Get ready for a musical resurrection. On March 30, 2024, visual kei band deadman will unveil their first original full-length album in 19 years, Genealogie der morale.

It’s been a staggering 19 years since deadman dropped their last full-length album, in the direction of sunrise and night light back in 2005. Anticipation is reaching a fever pitch as fans eagerly await their upcoming release, marking a two-decade milestone.

Production in progress

The band is currently in full swing with the pre-production and recording process for their highly-anticipated album, Genealogie der morale.

The album will feature the current support members, bassist Kazu (known for his work with the god and death stars, gibkiy gibkiy gibkiy), and drummer Asanao (associated with lynch.). Of course, two original members of deadman, vocalist Mako, and guitarist aie, are also part of the lineup for this album.

As production is currently underway, more details of the content will be announced in the new year.

deadman takes Japan

Until then, there’s more exciting news from deadman! The band just revealed plans for a nationwide Japan tour, deadman tour 2024 Doutoku no keifu, slated to begin in April 2024. The tour will span 15 stops across 11 cities, commencing at VanVan V4 in Kanazawa on April and concluding at Shinjuku BLAZE on June 1.

The set list for the upcoming tour is expected to feature a mix of new tracks from the album alongside some of deadman’s iconic classics.

Adding an element of mystery to the tour, two secret shows are in the cards. While the details are yet to be disclosed, keep an eye out for the announcements, which will reveal more about these special performances scheduled for March 30 and May 23.

For those eager to secure their spots, fan club ticket preorders can be made through deadman’s official site starting from December 28, 2023, at 12:00 (JST) until January 8, 2024, at 21:00 (JST). General sales then open to the public on February 24, 2024.

Looking back, looking ahead

Since their unexpected reunion in 2019, deadman has enthusiastically resumed their musical journey. In 2022, the band treated fans to I am here, a release featuring self-covers of their earlier recorded songs. Fast forward to March 2023, and deadman delighted enthusiasts with a box set of live concert footage titled endroll 2006 / endroll 2022 and a self-cover album named dead reminiscence.

Now, the anticipation is high as we eagerly await fresh, original material from the revived deadman.
