lynch. is far from done revitalizing its older discography. The band will release a second retake album, THE AVOIDED SUN / SHADOWS, on September 24. The news was announced during their tour final at Spotify O-EAST on June 20, revealing that the retake album is act eight of act 10 of the ongoing lynch. 20th ANNIVERSARY PROJECT.

Similar to their first retake album, GREEDY DEAD SOUL / UNDERNEATH THE SKIN, the limited edition of THE AVOIDED SUN / SHADOWS contains four discs in total, following the latter half of their indies work.

The first disc is THE AVOIDED SUN, their third album. The second disc is SHADOWS, their fourth album. The unnamed third disc compiles title tracks and coupling tracks, for example, an illusion, DOZE, A GLEAM IN EYE, ALL THIS I’LL GIVE YOU, and JUDGEMENT, alongside a new song. Finally, the fourth disc is a Blu-ray featuring a music video and its making-of for the new song.

I’m personally excited for the retake of their SHADOWS album, as it’s the release that initially got me into lynch. and their wonderfully gloomy world.

The lynch. 20th ANNIVERSARY PROJECT has also now revealed all 10 of its acts! The sixth act is the band’s event titled [XX]act:6 lynch. Presents BLACK BEAUTY BEASTS spanning Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya, with lynch. as the final performer. The lineup differs between dates and locations, consisting of D’ERLANGER, Plastic Tree, LM.C, Matenrou Opera, Sadie, and Kizu, to name a few.

The seventh act consists of three consecutive performances on October 13, 14, and 15 at Spotify O-WEST titled [XX]act:7 LIMITED 3 DAYS, focusing respectively on men, women, and fanclub-only performances. Then there’s [XX]act:8 THE AVOIDED SUN / SHADOWS retake album as the eighth act, followed by the ninth act, a tour titled [XX]act:9 THE AVOIDED SHADOWS that will focus on songs from said album.

The final and 10th act is their performance at Tokyo Garden Theater titled [XX]act:FINAL ALL THIS WE’LL GIVE YOU, a callback to the song ALL THIS I’LL GIVE YOU, which will feature on the previously mentioned album.
