Please introduce yourself.

Hello everyone, I’m Kanjosen Akubi from MAD JAMIE. Congratulations to JROCK NEWS on your 10th anniversary! Yaaay! Congratulations!

MAD JAMIE is idol punk rock, born in a live house in 2021, straight out of Udagawa, Shibuya, Tokyo! Kawaii is fxxk!

Have you performed overseas? What was the experience like?

In the summer two years ago, I was invited to an event called NärCon in Sweden, and thanks to that, we were able to tour Europe last year. This year, too, we’ll be touring Europe this summer in August.

If I’m talking about things in particular that stayed with me, the fans overseas—it was really cool, they sang along in Japanese with me, which really left a lasting impression. These places are so far away from Japan, but really feeling that my music, that MAD JAMIE’s music, had reached them was really amazing.

Could you share a pivotal moment in your musical career?

My dream is to perform at the Nippon Budokan, the same place The Beatles performed their first show in Japan. I’m always promising the Jamies that I will, and one big step I took towards that becoming reality was playing a solo show at ZEPP Shinjuku in October last year, which I think is a really big achievement for me.

Performing solo at ZEPP was part of the path towards making my dream come true. Ever since my debut, I’ve been saying I would do it, so being able to be MAD JAMIE at ZEPP with all the Jamies was really memorable for me. I’m also really happy to be able to fulfill a promise that I made so long ago. That same day, I also think MAD JAMIE took another step towards a brand-new evolution. Or at least, that’s what I think.

As JROCK NEWS celebrates its 10th anniversary, would you like to share any thoughts?

JROCK NEWS has been a big help in spreading what makes MAD JAMIE cool, and our thoughts and feelings, to so many people. On top of that, after meeting at our first live in Sweden two years ago, they’ve interviewed us and spread the word to “Jamies” all around the world. I’m not very good at English, so I always answer in Japanese, but JROCK NEWS always translates my words and my thoughts so carefully, and I’m so, so grateful and so happy for them helping what I want to say reach so many people, beyond language barriers.

Please share a message to the overseas fans.

Thank you so, so much for always supporting MAD JAMIE! Just thinking about how all the songs I put everything into singing are crossing the oceans and reaching all the “Jamies” of the world… I think that’s a miracle. I’m so, so happy. Because we’re so far apart, it might be hard for us to meet face-to-face, but I’ll do my best so that my feelings reach all you “Jamies” out there!

So, I’d be happy if you keep tabs on what MAD JAMIE is doing, and listen to our songs a lot! Whether it’s Japan, or another country, when we meet, let’s scream together, set our souls ablaze, and get fired up! Let’s do it! I’ll be waiting!

What projects or upcoming activities are you currently working on?

Starting on August 8, 2025, MAD JAMIE will be embarking on “MAD PARADE”—a 20-day tour of Europe!

August 8 and 9 we’ll be in the Netherlands, the UK on August 16, Sweden on August 20, Norway on August 22 and 23, and finally Poland on August 27, for a total of 5 different countries!

I hope all the European “Jamies” can come see us! I’d be happy if you can! There’s also a special “homecoming” show in Tokyo on September 2! Let’s make this tour super hot and super awesome together! See you there!
