For the first time in six years since girugamesh’s disbandment, the band is once again united for the release of its upcoming song engrave. This completely new work is said to have a “loud sound” and “catchy melodies”, along with lyrics that remind us of the bonds we share even during a coronavirus pandemic.
On top of the new song itself, girugamesh already prepared a music video premiere for engrave and listed it for February 1, 21:00 (JST). The official release of engrave is scheduled for February 2, which is when you will be able to pick it up here.

The reveal of engrave is a follow-up to the teaser shared on MAVERICK DC GROUP’s YouTube channel late last year. In which the band shared that they would prepare something for February 2022 due to the state of the world, and in conjunction with the celebration of MAVERICK DC GROUP’s 40th anniversary.
The four-man band girugamesh disbanded back in 2016 as they believed they’ve “achieved everything [they’ve] hoped for“, as explained by drummer Ryo in our 2015 interview. Since then, the members have parted ways and worked in their own respective fields.
Most notably, we’ve seen Ryo juggling between being a YouTuber and a producer. Or bassist ShuU who has taken part in several music groups, and even started his solo project, Mister Eight. While vocalist Satoshi has been fairly inactive in terms of music activities, he recently spoke out about girugamesh’s disbandment, giving us a new perspective on the whole situation.
