OLDCODEX’s upcoming single Core Fade will release on April 22 and in turn, the duo has revealed the music video for the title track’s graffiti-focused music video, serving as the opening theme for the second season of anime ULTRAMAN.
The upbeat but serious rock song is full of jagged lines zooming all over the screen, outlining vocalist Ta_2 and painter YORKE., who spray paints the canvas behind only for it pop out and come alive. It’s a cool idea they’ve implemented that goes well with the speed painting aspect that YORKE. applies to his work on stage and in music videos.
The single hits stores in two editions, regular edition, which features only three songs, and limited edition, adding a blu-ray with the music video and making-of for Core Fade.
It serves as the opening theme for the second season of anime ULTRAMAN, based on the manga of the popular superhero television series in Japan. The anime starts airing today on April 12 via Tokyo MX.
The song also matches well with the intense and cool 3D action sequences seen in the ULTRAMAN trailer, have a look!
The spotlight is set on OLDCODEX in their artist photos and certainly so with their song as the theme for ULTRAMAN:
