Ranunculus is—as we expected from the teaser—very harmonic in its sound. Despite the guitars oozing out heavy and distorted power chords, the song remains calm, vibrant, and pleasant to the ear, a very refreshing side of DIR EN GREY awoken from its slumber. The music video naturally also show off the members in their crazy new look that contrasts the merry, church-circus-like environment, yet they’re still able to blend in as it was their natural habitat.
