Welcome, MAD BONiTA, a new Tokyo-based international metal band unleashing a unique wave of explosive music with their debut EP AWAKENiNG, released October 9.

MAD BONiTA is a Tokyo-based international rock band whose members hold a wealth of experience within the Japanese entertainment industry.

The main creative force behind the music is Swedish producer Endigo, recognized for producing the idol group BABYBEARD. Endigo has copious amounts of experience lending her voice to various art forms. Some notable examples include FINAL FANTASY VII, Street Fighter, and “BanG Dream!“.

Joining Endigo as the frontwoman of MAD BONiTA is Spanish vocalist “Mandy B. Blue”. With experience in Japanese television, anime music, and voice acting, she brings a distinctive, charismatic charm to the band’s sound. Building the musical world further is guitarist Yuta, whose previous experience in HOWANOI provides complete mastery in anime-esque guitar arrangements. Finally bringing experience from Japan’s independent rock and metal scenes is drummer Mirko Reina from NEON ONI and SENSE OF DEFEAT.

MAD BONiTA’s first showcase came October 2 with the explosive music video AWAKENiNG. Fully embracing the hectic party-like soundscape, MAD BONiTA can be found fully immersed in their performance. AWAKENiNG  combines a multitude of both Japanese and Western influences to form a unique form of metal music. MAD BONiTA’s influences lie within groups such as SiM, ONE OK ROCK, “HANABIE.“, and RAISE A SUILEN, and this is certainly heard in their lighthearted and fun metal tracks.

MAD BONiTA’s first EP, “AWAKENiNG”

The five-track EP AWAKENiNG, released October 9, sees MAD BONiTA embrace chaos. The EP expands upon the sound found in the lead single, allowing all members to highlight their unique talents. Endigo and Yuta build versatile guitar arrangements that unleash blissful melodies combined with energetic metal riffs.

As the producer, Endigo uses her experience in multiple art forms to make each track truly unique from one another. For example, the track Celebrate would feel at home on an anime soundtrack, whereas WAGAMAMA NA KAIJU (ワガママな怪獣) is reminiscent of retro video games. Aligning with the diverse palette of sounds is vocalist Mandy B. Blue. With her experience in acting, Mandy B. Blue offers a unique charismatic approach to her vocals, best heard in the bubbly track RUNNiNG. BASiLiSK, on the other hand, leans more into a metal direction, where drummer Mirko Reina lets loose.
