You may have recognise MEA as the visual kei band from Indonesia who will be playing at the Cure World Visual Festival.
The four piece band from Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, they debuted in March 2013 with vocalist Bare, guitarist Byu, bassist Steve and drummer Shen. Their first tour consisted of three shows in Japan in May 2014, kicked off in Tokyo at the Meguro Rockmaykan, Ikebukuro EDGE and Shibuya Rex. Their sounds are inspired by DELUHI, LUNA SEA, DIR EN GREY, and The GazettE, and you can see this from the heavy and big sounds and even their by their style.
MEA has featured in “Do you have VK-DNA?”, a DVD showcasing the best foreign Jrock bands across the world. This was release included other foreign visual kei bands including Kerbera, DIE/MAY, BatAARr, NINJAMAN JAPAN and more.
To date they have released four singles, DROP H[E]ART, Kagami, maxi-single titled REVIVAL (2014), and finally their latest release REVIVALIZM which was released in July 30, 2015. Check out the short preview in the video below and also the music video for DROP [H]EART from their first single.
It’s great to see the Jrock scene is still very much alive and kicking across the globe and hitting up Japan for shows. Let’s wish them the best of luck for their upcoming shows at the Cure World Visual Festival in April 30.
