Don’t we all dream of playing in front of our beloved jrockers, imagining situations in which they praise our amateur skills. Perhaps we laugh and hang together, forgetting all the bad things that might have happened to us. Now, we all know such things only happen in the secrecy of our imaginations, but once every 20 years, on the rare occasion when a jrocker’s hair is not perfect, or when the stars align in our favor, some lucky fan gets to do just that.

The chance went to a guy named Nyango Star, whose name comes from the fact that he wears an apple costume to represent the prefecture Aomori as he plays, and uploads his drum covers of famous jrock bands onto the internet. He recently went viral in Japan for his cover of the always difficult X Japan song, “Kurenai”. One thing led to another, and next thing he knew, he was a national sensation who had made himself heard to even Yoshiki himself, prompting a meeting between the two. Shinya and Inoran from Luna Sea were also present to witness Nyango Cat’s greatness. Check out the video below!

Yoshiki already likes this, and it’s not even thirty seconds in.

Nyango Cat passes through a hard section, leaving his small, yet simultaneously humongous crowd in awe.

Nyango Star doesn’t only cover X Japan songs, he has also covered Linkin Park, Slipknot, among others. Check out his channel on Youtube!

Obviously, this is an amazing feat to achieve, and even more so when you wear a costume as big and stuffy as the one Nyango wears. This is definitely something to admire!
