coldrain has announced that they will release their seventh album Nonnegative on July 6. Alongside this announcement, the band published the music video for CALLING.

The music video celebrates coldrain’s 15th anniversary by using clips from throughout their careers, featuring older and more recent recording sessions and live performances.

As the poignant song plays, the band members can be seen hanging out in a makeshift living space while talking with each other and joking around.

The lyrics are artistically presented in visually striking typefaces that pop with cool visual effects. It also shows each member spray painting some of the lyrics onto white T-shirts. These T-shirts are eventually used to create the Nonnegative album cover.

Vocalist Masato who designed the album artwork wrote about it in an Instagram post:

Since 2020, as a band we feel like we’ve been graudally heading towards positive but still finally at zero. (A new zero. A new start).

The logo I made for the album artwork is an X on – (negative) but also represents a line rising to become + (positive).

coldrain’s album Nonnegative tracklist was also revealed, confirming that their previously released song PARADISE (KILL THE SILENCE) will be included.

The album will also hit stores in regular edition and four limited editions. The regular edition comes with a CD containing 12 songs.

All four of the limited editions come with the CD and either a DVD or Blu-ray. Said DVD or Blu-ray contains footage of their live performance ‘”PARADISE” JAPAN TOUR 2021’ at USEN STUDIO COAST on November 16, 2021, before the venue ultimately closed in January 2022. Depending on which limited edition you get, you will also receive “INrain Magazine vol.2” and “original goods”.
