On December 6, visual kei band nurié was en route to Tokyo for their sold-out headlining live concert, “Guide Book”. Unfortunately, their vehicle was rear-ended in a traffic jam, injuring all members. Bassist Takanashi Yahiro was seriously injured, and sadly, later died of his injuries.

Thankfully, nurié’s other three members—Vocalist Ryutaro, guitarist Ayato, and drummer Yuta walked away with mild bruising. Their CT scans came back normal and they are recovering steadily.

Friends and family of the deceased attended a private funeral service for Yahiro on December 10. Friends and colleagues paid their respects with an array of beautiful bouquets, which the family graciously agreed to share with fans on Twitter.

At that time, Yahiro’s family gave permission for nurié to perform one final performance in Osaka on December 17. All shows after December 17 are canceled. At this time the band’s future is unknown.

According to nurié’s official profile, Yahiro was not only a skilled bassist, but also an Aquarius who loved street fashion, movies, comics, and the American cartoon “Adventure Time”. From the outpouring of support nurié received, we can tell he will be sorely missed.
