LiSA unveils a music video for the song Akeboshi which serves as the opening theme for the ongoing Demon Slayer season.
Following the success of the hit song Homura last year, LiSA teams up with composer Yuki Kajiura once again to take charge of the musical arrangements, and this time around, the music features heavy guitars mixed with orchestral elements highlighting LiSA’s vocal ability.
The music video for Akeboshi is mostly shot inside a train tunnel in reference to the Mugen Train arc of Demon Slayer and shows LiSA’s expressive gaze and fierce yet smooth moves in tune with the song’s mystical genre. The singer’s presence alternates with painter Akiko Nakayama’s “Alive Painting” technique which consists of using the color and texture of different liquids to bring art to life.
The songs Akeboshi and Shirogane serve respectively as the opening and ending theme songs for the second season of Demon Slayer (Kimetsu no Yaiba) and Yuki Kajiura is in charge of the composition of both songs as well as the soundtrack for the anime. Akeboshi is now available on digital platforms while the physical format is coming out on November 17 as part of the upcoming double A-side single Akeboshi/Shirogane.
The new Demon Slayer season will be split into two arcs: Mugen Train Arc, and the Entertainment District Arc of the manga. The Mugen Train Arc started its broadcast on October 10 through Funimation and Crunchyroll. The show is segmented into seven episodes based on the previous movie Kimetsu no Yaiba the movie: Mugen Train. Following on, the Entertainment District Arc will premiere on December 5 with music provided by vocalist Aimer.
