JPU Records, a label who brings Japanese rock to the western market, has finally released their new and improved website. Along with this news, they surprisingly also revealed a new band that would join the ranks. Please welcome the all-female quartet rock band, ELFRIEDE (エルフリーデ) and look forward to their rocking debut album real-Ize on April 24.

ELFRIEDE is composed of four members, drummer Yu-yan, vocalist Mikuru, guitarist Ryo Yamabuki, and bassist Rina. There might be a chance that you already know some of these members, as both guitarist Ryo and bassist Rina have been playing across Japan as support members for other bands. Ryo has also made herself known by being featured in several of Japan’s top guitar publications, like YOUNG GUITAR and Player magazine, at the same time, she is active as a cosplayer with over 100 thousand followers on Twitter. Bassist Rina has prior to ELFRIEDE been active with her solo career in jazz fusion–and still is. Thanks to all this, Ryo and Rina were able to meet drummer Yu-yan and vocalist Mikuru which completed the line-up we have today!
On April 24, we will finally see the band’s debut full album real-Ize being released internationally. It will first be available in physical format in Japan and digitally worldwide via JPU Records. About a week later, on May 3, JPU Records will release its edition of real-Ize that will contain extra material, a booklet with the album’s lyrics and English translation.
So far, we’ve seen two music video from the album, the latest one is the rocking and charming number Vibration. Their previous music video Starlight takes more of a bright pop-rock approach and could totally fit in as an anime theme song.
