We’re here today to help you discover your next favorite jrock band with a female vocalist lead. Just in case you’ve missed it, here is our first and second list where we’ve introduced you all to The Peggies, A crow is white and WagakkiBand. It’s the middle of 2017 already, so let’s get everyone some summer tunes going. This time we have a team of alternative and indie rock bands; Hump Back, Uso to Chameleon, POLKADOT STINGRAY, Vivid Undress, and alfakyun. Get your ice cream out, prop your legs up and let’s get started on some fresh beats!
Hump Back
Three piece band from Osaka who was formed from a high school music department in 2009 and first debuted as Hump Back in 2012 where they released their demo say good bye. If you had to describe their sound, it would be hanging out with newly made friends by the sea with a cool sea-breeze rustling your hair under a bright blue sky. We recommend you listen to Circus (サーカス), Iya ni naru (嫌になる) and Tsuki Made (月まで):

Uso to Chameleon
Uso to Chameleon (嘘とカメレオン) who also call themselves Lie and a Chameleon, is an alternative rock five-man-band that formed in 2015. They’ve injected small doses of interesting sounds to indie tunes we’re familiar with nowadays, so we’re hoping they’ll become even more experimental with their work. So far they have only two tracks on YouTube; Saredo Kijutsu-shi wa Sai o Furu (されど奇術師は賽を振る) and N-shi ni tsuite (N氏について) which they uploaded last week:

POLKADOT STINGRAY
Possibly my personal favorite for this summer, POLKADOT STINGRAY (ポルカドットスティングレイ) released a mini-album Dai Siege (大正義) this year in April which you should check out. Their sound is a glass that has been filled right to the top with funky clean guitars, and vocals which help them shine amongst the sea of alternative rock bands. Vivid Undress
Vivid undress is a five piece from Shimokitazawa who called themselves a “Jpop mutation rock quintet” with speedy vocals. I would describe their sound as rushing through town because you’re late for work, but you know you’re not going to get fired because your family friend owns the establishment. They’ve been around since 2014 and have a new mini album ENDLESS which is coming out on July 5. Have a listen to Ikite ikite (生きて生きて), Urala (ウララ) and Watashi Menhera Nanka Janai Mon (私メンヘラなんかじゃないもん) from their new mini-album:

Alfakyun.
Alfakyun. (あるふぁきゅん。) was originally an utaite (artists who cover songs and post them to popular video streaming site Nico Nico Douga). Signing to JVCKENWOOD Victor Entertainment in 2014 after her popularity soared, she has since released two albums and released a new single Our Sympathy earlier this year. Out of all the bands covered in this article so far, her voice is by far the most powerful. It’s like sitting outside in the middle of a storm, so check out Our Sympathy below:
