Sel’m has finally released the date of their belated summer album, and it’s scheduled for October 21. Reirou will be Sel’m’s third album, two of which vocalist Ryuga participated in. They are also sporting a new look for this release, wearing suits, a style currently trending in visual kei, meaning they are getting down to business. You can view the new look below.
We speculate the date was never released officially until now due to Sel’m’s drummer MANJ゛pausing band activities, because of the worsening of his lumbar disc herniation. You can read more about that in our previous coverage.
If you have been following Sel’m up till this point, then you would know that they’ve had many changes in their line-up. Since the creation of the band they had lost a vocalist and guitarist, Tora and Nagi (respectively), and guitarist John recently in 2014. This lead the band to release an experimental single at the beginning of this year to see if continuing on as a 4-member band would be viable. I personally think it was the right decision, since Scarlet of the guilty was probably their best work with Ryuga on vocals. So it’s nice to see them continuing on.
