lynch. simultaneously physically released their album titled CLIMAX in Japan on July 1, with JPU Records bringing the album to international shores in a digital format. That’s not all, however, as JPU Records will physically release not one, but two international editions of the album on July 17, making it the label’s first physical lynch. release.
One edition will be CD-only with a 20-page booklet featuring lyrics and photos, alongside an exclusive bonus booklet with English and romaji lyrics. The CD and Video on Demand edition features the music video for the third song ICE, translated into English for the first time. Video on Demand also includes a fully English subtitled 30-minute behind-the-scenes documentary of the music video’s production, including interviews with every member.
Music video ICE presents before the audience a heavy use of blue from the color grading to the effects used. In it, the band braves the otherworldly blue wilderness, creating a pensive atmosphere from start to finish. Combining this with fragmented flashes of black and murky blue superimposed, all while each member is separately shown playing their respective part, brings a sense of velocity to the song.
Album CLIMAX was released in regular and limited editions initially, with the former being CD-only, and the latter including the CD and a Blu-ray disc with the music video for ICE and its making-of. The tracklist also features the previously released song BRINGER, released on the third disc of their second retake album THE AVOIDED SUN / SHADOWS. The band also revealed a song preview trailer to give a taste of what to expect.
Bassist Akinori comments:
CLIMAX showcases all the different sides of lynch., with many forms of heaviness and power that are uniquely ours. It’s not just heavy or fast, it’s packed with everything that makes lynch. what it is.
