lynch.’s upcoming second retake album, THE AVOIDED SUN / SHADOWS, released on September 24. However, at the time of the announcement, the title of the third disc, its title track, music video, and making-of had yet to be confirmed. That is no longer the case, as the reveal of their BRINGER music video below confirms that the name alone finalizes previously stated information.

What this music video “brings”, so to speak, is a fist-pumping, exhilarating, rousing anthem loaded with chants, performed in an abandoned, rundown industrial building filled with intense red and white flashing lights. The building, also connected to rooms and associated places, poses mystery and intrigue to the band’s performance.

These rooms feature guitarist Yusuke performing among a stack of mannequins, guitarist Reo bathed in red lights, bassist Akinori in a partially decorated room, and drummer Asanao standing in a pool of water. There are also shots of vocalist Hazuki holding up the skull of a two-horned animal, Reo dragging a chair on fire, and Akinori with a flare set off in his hand.

The band has also integrated subtitled lyrics into the music video itself, allowing viewers to focus on the messaging behind the song and the spectacle of the final product.

Here, Hazuki references the name of the final act in their 20th anniversary project, a performance at Tokyo Garden Theater on December 28, with tickets on sale now until September 29 JST, shouting the lyrics “ALL THIS WE’LL GIVE YOU”. While Hazuki has already penned a song titled GOD ONLY KNOWS, which was their previous title track on GREEDY DEAD SOUL / UNDERNEATH THE SKIN, it seems he has concluded the lyric: “DON’T THINK GOD WILL SAVE US”.

There’s also an apocalyptic vibe, stating “WHAT IS GOING ON ?, THERE IS NO ONE LEFT, ‘THE END’ HAS ALREADY BEGUN, WE ARE BEING SIFTED THROUGH”. Despite the depressive lyrics, lines like “‘MAKE THIS DREAM COME TRUE’, LOOK AHEAD AND MOVE ON, WE’RE THE ONLY SURVIVE”, give massive hope for the future. Hazuki sings the final lyrics of the song, “I’M THE BRINGER OF LIGHT”, topping off his message brilliantly.
