BABYBEARD is ready to rock with a brand new single, “SEMI-FINAL”. Released on November 30, “SEMI-FINAL” is a symphonic-metal-adjacent track from the pop-metal trio’s upcoming album.

In both lyrics and visuals, “SEMI-FINAL” uses cicadas to symbolize resilience through adversity. Cicadas, which are called “semi” (セミ) in Japanese, are infamous for their short yet destructive lives. While cicadas are often associated with a cute aesthetic, “SEMI-FINAL” is BABYBEARD’s darkest single yet.

Swedish musician and BABYBEARD music producer, Endigo, composed “SEMI-FINAL”, as well as animated its lyric video. On her Instagram, Endigo offered a short behind-the-scenes look at the animation process, as well as praising the video’s two illustrators, Mina and Ali.

Presently, tickets are on sale for BABYBEARD’s upcoming European tour. Throughout January 2026, the trio is stopping at five countries, arriving at cities like London, Cologne, and Paris.

BABYBEARD began activities in 2021 and currently features founder Ladybeard, SUZU, and MIZUKI. Stuntman and wrestler Ladybeard (formerly in LADYBABY and DEADLIFT LOLITA) brings aggressive vocals juxtaposed to adorable style. MIZUKI is the newest member of the group, having joined in June.
