lynch. will now release their retake album GREEDY DEAD SOULS / UNDERNEATH THE SKIN on April 30 instead of the original release date of April 16. The band announced this was due to production reasons.

Before the delay announcement, an updated track list revealed the previously unknown name of the third disc: GOD ONLY KNOWS. Those words also serve as the title track, the newest song on the release, and the name of both the music video and its making-of.

On top of that, the music video for GOD ONLY KNOWS—re-uploaded to reflect the new release date—has officially dropped! Violently flickering lights, intriguing camera work, and creative use of mirrors make for something that’s eerie, fast-paced, and intense, amplifying the band’s impactful sound.

Where that eeriness and fastness comes into play is the carousel of mirrors focusing on vocalist Hazuki’s face with his eyes wide open, gesticulating and making intense facial expressions. There’s also the mix of swift and shaky camerawork during the bridge and chorus especially, bringing a surreal and chaotic look to everything.

As a song, GOD ONLY KNOWS features poignant breaks in guitarists Yusuke and Reo’s sections, allowing drummer Asanao’s punchy sound to shine. When those guitars enter again, they express a heaviness that fits the oppressive and dark atmosphere they’ve conjured, even more so with bassist Akinori’s smooth playing. Hazuki can also showcase his impressive range with his rapping, powerful clean vocals, throaty growls, and bellowing screams.

lynch. has also uploaded song previews of what to expect from the GREEDY DEAD SOULS / UNDERNEATH THE SKIN album. They also have a new artist photo that pays tribute to the older version they did for greedy dead souls, but now with Yusuke and Akinori who weren’t part of the band at that point.
