TK from Ling tosite sigure confirmed that he would be in charge of the opening song for the upcoming seventh season of the popular TV anime My Hero Academia. It was announced on Twitter following the initial announcement at the ANI-ROCK FES. 2024 My Hero Academia Plus Ultra Live concert in Yokohama on February 25.

Details, such as the name for this new song have not yet been released, but with the new anime season starting May 4, it’s just a matter of time.

TK surrounded by an iridescent bubble.

Along with the announcement, TK released his own statement in both Japanese and English:

I have been thinking about what I, who have no personality or talent and am far from being a hero, could depict with music for this animation.

The theme of this song was born the moment a soap bubble flew in front of me, reflecting the rainbow colors so vividly that it disappeared, leaving its shape on the concrete.

Is this battle, which continues while being deprived and even acquiring pain, for oneself or for someone else? May the brightness that shines through the tattered world be engraved with this song.

Though the tone of his message seems to lack confidence, TK is the creative force behind many popular anime theme songs, including unravel from Tokyo Ghoul, Signal from 91 Days, and first death from Chainsaw Man, just to name a few. Fans of music and anime alike will undoubtedly be looking forward to this latest release.

My Hero Academia’s 7th season starts May 4.

The My Hero Academia anime is animated by Studio Bones and based on the manga series written and illustrated by Kohei Horikoshi, which has been serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump since July 2014. A special four-episode recap, My Hero Academia Memories, will air in April ahead of the new season.
