On October 5, solo rock musician MIYAVI kicks off his 20th-anniversary tour across North America. But that’s not all fans have to look forward to—commemorating the 20th anniversary of his solo debut, the samurai guitarist launches a special project titled MIYAVI 20th & Beyond on October 31.
For the first part of the project, MIYAVI releases his first-ever anime song cover album, titled “MIYAVIVERSE – Anima -“. Coming November 23, MIYAVIVERSE – Anima – features five carefully selected anime songs that are also much-loved overseas. Reborn with MIYAVI’s signature sound, these covers are sure to shake up the new audiovisual world.
The tracks for the album have been announced and will include signature songs The Galaxy Express 999, Get Wild, Soul’s Refrain, Eternal Wind -Hohoemi Wa Hikaru Kaze No Naka-, as well as the recent hit Blue Bird.
In recent years MIYAVI became increasingly involved with the anime industry. In 2021, he made his voice acting debut as Kouketsu, the villain of the Netflix animated film Bright: Samurai Soul. Later that year he voiced Finn in the Netflix animated series Arcane, which also features his music on the soundtrack. He also performed the song Strike it Out, the opening theme for the anime series Tribe Nine.
In October, MIYAVI embarks on a large-scale North American tour spanning twenty cities, similar to last year. Then in December, he performs Electric Xmas 2022, a special Christmas live show that takes place in Nagoya, Osaka, and Yokohama.
