Female-fronted symphonic metal band ANCIENT MYTH will release their next mini-album Ambrosian Blood on December 15. With songs inspired by myths and fantasy, Ambrosian Blood includes a CD, and a DVD with two music videos, behind-the-scenes features, and live performances.

The five-track CD includes two new songs, Ambrosian Blood and Forbidden Blaze. Both songs follow themes of Greek mythology, such as the titan Prometheus giving humans the gift of fire.

There is also a re-recording of their 2010 track, Astrolabe in Your Heart. Since the mini-album drops in December, the final two tracks will be traditional Christmas songs sung by frontwoman Michal: O Holy Night and Angels We Have Heard on High.

One of the included music videos is River of Oblivion, from their 2021 album ArcheoNyx. Released earlier this year, ArcheoNyx featured guest guitar work by HIZAKI, the famed guitarist of Versailles and Jupiter.

ANCIENT MYTH’s style could be described as majestic, melodic, and heroic. Their music combines dark and classical elements, sometimes combining melodic metal with unexpected elements like Japanese instruments.

Female vocalists in the Japanese metal scene are a rarity, and vocalist Michal has a stand-out voice. Her register ranges from mid to low, then soars effortlessly into an operatic soprano.

Though originally from Tokyo, they have toured across Europe and appeared at music festivals in South Korea and China.
