L’arc-en-ciel has joined hands with the Japanese TV-broadcasting station “WOWOW” for a special collaboration in conjunction with its 30th anniversary that happens to coincide with WOWOW’s 30th anniversary as well.

The partnership began in February and will unveil exclusive footage over the course of several months and already began in February.

Two lives were broadcast so far: “L’Arc~en~Ciel 20th L’Anniversary Starting Live L’A HAPPY NEW YEAR!” (recorded on January 1, 2011, at Makuhari Messe) and the final date of “L’Arc~en~Ciel 20th L’Anniversary TOUR” (recorded on December 4, 2011, at Osaka Kyocera Dome).

Upcoming broadcast later this month on March 28: the World Tour show in Jakarta from March 2, 2012, where 17,000 enthusiastic fans gathered at the outdoor venue.

Then there’s also the schedule for April that reveals “20th L’Anniversary WORLD TOUR 2012 THE FINAL” recorded at Universal Studios Japan’s Special Outdoor Venue on May 20, 2012. This concert was performed in the birthplace of the band, Osaka, and was held as the final leg of the band’s 20th-anniversary celebration-tour. Over 100,000 fans gathered between May 20 and the previous day’s concert; performing songs from the album “BUTTERFLY” that was released in the same year. To bring even more excitement to the fans, songs that had not been performed in several years were included on the setlist.

Furthermore, there is a collaboration in the works for May too, so look forward to that!
