HYDE has revealed a collaboration lyric video for an unreleased song titled DEFEAT, featuring scenes from the video game Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition, which is out now. It also doubles up as a showcase of next-generation graphics by Capcom—the publisher and developer of the game—and the energetic composition perfectly capturing HYDE’s anguished vocals.
DEFEAT‘s sinister verse alongside an uplifting chorus has become somewhat of a staple for the vocalist and it’s executed brilliantly here. We have the high-octane action and frantic setpieces that make this a perfect collision of the two worlds. It not only keeps your eyes glued to the screen but you can nod your head to the intoxicating tune while doing so.
No release date for the song has been announced as of yet, unfortunately, so we’ll have to wait on that. This is also not the first time HYDE has collaborated with Devil May Cry 5 as the song MAD QUALIA was made the theme song back in 2019.
In the meantime, there’s a lot of other HYDE activities you can indulge yourself in! His next single, LET IT OUT, will be released soon on November 25. And in December, HYDE is taking part in the YouTube Music Weekend, and shortly after he is featured in Yoshiki’s livestream music documentary “YOSHIKI: UNDER THE SKY”.
