For the first time in MUCC’s career dating all the way back to 1997, the band will hold their first paid livestreaming concert with no audience. The stream will be available through the streaming platforms “ZAIKO” and “Nico Nico Live” on June 21. One of the peculiar things about this event is that a few lucky fans will receive the chance to participate in the live show and rehearsal through what they describe as “face-to-face” Zoom call.

The circumstances leading up to this decision are mainly caused by COVID-19 which in turn has caused restriction for mass-gathering in Japan. As such, MUCC is titling the concert ~Fight against COVID-19#2~ “AKU – THE BROKEN RESUSCITATION”. Besides referring back to their previous livestream from home, the name also ties into the concept of the latest album Aku, which means “evil” in Japanese, and that world will be depicted through this concert.

As for fans who purchased their access through ZAIKO, a few lucky winners will be selected through a lottery to allow them to participate via a Zoom call for both the concert and rehearsal. The information at ZAIKO states “…an online concert that fans can participate in face-to-face”. What exactly this implies remains slightly unclear, but the requirements state that you will need to have two devices: one to view the show, and another with a working camera and microphone. You should also be okay with your face being shown in public. Unfortunately, at the time of writing, the application period is already closed.
