Golden Bomber keeps surprising us with shenanigans every time they release new music, and this time is no exception! To promote their latest album Mou kohaku ni dashitekurenai released today, December 28, the band members were trying to figure out how they could make their fans who purchased the album happy with some kind of special privilege. Their conclusion: Each member should touch every album included in the initial batch of 43,000 copies, which contains both the CD edition and CD+DVD edition. This means properly touching, and not just a simple light feel. Although, one member might have taken it a bit too far…
The promotion video titled “Album zenbu tesagyou suru made kaerema 10” is where we will find Golden Bomber take on the stunt of touching 43,000 albums. The title is a pun of a famous Japanese TV show where the participants would have to eat a restaurant’s food until they guessed and ordered all of their top 10 dishes. In this case, Golden Bomber was referring to the show through “kaerema 10”, which can also be read as “kaerema-ten” and interpreted as “kaerema-sen“, meaning “unable to go home”. In other words, these four lovely guys need to complete the task of touching all the albums before they’re able to leave!
After receiving instructions by one of the staff members on how to properly touch each CD booklet, Golden Bomber got to work and began working through all the boxes. In the midst of it, guitarist Yutaka had an epiphany and for some reason decided to lick the booklets. As a reminder, these albums are actually going to be sold to real customers and fans, not that we would mind ourselves, considering we already order our copy from the first batch. We guess “it’s a nice touch”? Right?
As the band members progressed with touching the booklets, the staff interrupted by enlightening them of their speed, saying it would require about four hours if they kept this pace.
Staff: With your current pace, it would require about four hours to complete all 43,000 booklets.
Yutaka: Are you kidding me? This will never end!
Sho: But we haven’t even started on the obis yet.
Yutaka: Oh yeah, we need to do the obis too!
As it was only a matter of time until something would go wrong, we see this happen later in the video. A big avalanche caused by vocalist Sho.
Despite the staff proclaiming four hours for the booklets, they end up only spending three hours, but that’s when they realized yet again they still haven’t touched any of the obis. Once again, we see Sho go mental.
We hope you’ll enjoy your new Golden Bomber album knowing the members have (inappropriately) touched it!
