Coming fresh on the heels of the incredible PASSIO, sukekiyo gave us an incredible surprise, dropping details for a brand-new album, INFINITUM! The limited edition is set to release on May 24, with the regular edition following on June 26. Both CD versions will be released on high-quality Blu-spec CD2 format.
According to an Instagram post by frontman Kyo, the geometric shape on the cover of the album represents the sum of the members’ birth dates. The numeric symbolism continues in the album’s title, which means “infinite” in Latin, fitting in perfectly with the numerous Latin titles in sukekiyo’s discography. In the album’s listing, the band also notes that the “infinite” refers to “possibilities infinitely expanding”, lending the otherwise dark album a pleasantly optimistic spin.
The limited edition features an impressive lineup of collaborating artists to add their unique abilities to classic sukekiyo songs. These collaborations range in style from Sachi of the unit Kokusyoku Sumire for a classical twist in the atmospheric song elisabeth addict, to the heavy rock from BAKI of GASTUNK, to pop flair from EXILE SHOKICHI. The limited edition also features an entire live performance, music videos, and documentary footage. This album does much to prove that sukekiyo’s talent and drive is nearly infinite!
Sukekiyo will embark on their 2019 tour, FORTY, at the end of May. Full details are available on their official website.
