Reol put out a new neon bright music video Gekihaku, extracted from her latest album Jijitsu jo. The music video is really a treat for the eye in terms of the vivid light work used which primarily consist of dramatic red, green, blue, and pink. But not only that, Reol goes all its way to show off some physical intimacy with a female party—still within the family-friendly zone of course.
Just like the song name Gekihaku implies (loosely translated to “spurt of confession”), there are feelings and emotions that are kept in, to the extent where it is no longer healthy. Despite its bright and saturated colors used, we are being offered the opposite through the dispirited expressions and motions. The keyword comes down to “codependency”, which in this case causes a struggle when enduring a tug of war between rejection and acceptance.
