DADAROMA keeps tensions high in “dadaism#4” album preview

October was met with DADAROMA returning from their hiatus with a plethora of announcements! This included new drummer Ryohei, the music video for ‘Tululila’, mini-album dadaism#4 out on November 14, and dates for their DADAROMA IS BACK TOUR “go home”.

It was far from the end however as November has now led to the reveal of song trailer for dadaism#4!

Starting it off is the heartfelt Hotaru with its straightforward composition and vocalist Yoshiatsu assuring to keep your attention with his vocals. Then we move onto Heya to Brassiere to Watashi bringing a sense of playfulness into the equation. If you loved Chotto Okashina Rennaikan from single Pornograph, you’ll love this song! The main promotion song “Tululila” is nothing we haven’t heard before but it really does drive that disconcerting feeling home with its screeching strings, building upon that even more so in the quieter sections.

Charisma Rock Stars wa Urenai ze! goes in line with party rock song “THE KINKY” but is more akin to Watashi, Bangya Janai wa in feeling and KIDS WAR in lyrical repetition. Our next ballad is Kiss wo Shiyou that starts off fuzzy and unclear but opens up and becomes easier to understand.

A type’s final song A PLAIN is amplified with its echoing chorus that fills the spaces where no vocals lie and in turn makes the final product sound grandiose.

If you happen to buy the B type, however, there is a seventh track waiting for you and that is the piano version of .Okami Shounen to Doko Ringo which featured on dadaism#3; a similar feat to what they did with KURT on album Stanczyk. .Okami Shounen to Doko Ringo was my least favorite song on that mini-album so to make the song even slower and minimal makes for a sluggish end.

The tension and intensity are high apart from the final song on Type B but it’s definitely a return to form doing what they do best! There is never a dramatical change in their music but by taking apart some of the songs, you’ll realize there’s more to it than you may have originally thought.
