Ever since girl rock quartet SCANDAL hinted at a new album coming out in 2018 spring, we’ve been eagerly waiting for more information on the band’s eighth studio album. Here are some details for you to look forward to the release. First off, as we already knew, the title of the album will be HONEY and the release date is set for February 14. The tracklist is now available revealing ten titles including the band’s previous single Take Me Out and Koisuru Universe, as well as Futari, a b-side from the latter.
HONEY is now up for pre-order at general stores and digital platforms. Among physical editions, you can choose from, first press limited, limited or regular edition. The first includes a limited t-shirt designed in collaboration with pop duo AMIAYA. The second comes with a DVD featuring the band’s 11th anniversary live in which SCANDAL made history by being the first Japanese band to feature in the popular VH1 series, Storytellers. And finally, regular edition comes with the standard tracklist.
European fans are most likely to be interested in JPU Records’ European edition of the album. The London-based label offers English translations and transliteration of the lyrics to accompany the regular and first press limited editions. As for the latter, aside from the t-shirt, they will also include an exclusive SCANDAL plectrum for the first 100 orders.
In order to celebrate the album release, the girls will have a free concert at Zepp DiverCity, Tokyo on the same day of the album release. You have until January 28 to apply at e-plus and the only requirement is to bring your copy of HONEY with you.
In other news, guitarist Mami just joined the photo-sharing social network Instagram. You may follow her going by the username mmts_dayo.
