MAQIA released its empowering digital single “Kizudarake Hero” (傷だらけヒーロー) on June 18, accompanied by a heartwarming music video. The song, composed by guitarist TaJI (formerly of Rides In ReVellion), with lyrics by Oga Lento, encourages listeners to live for themselves, even if it means being a little more selfish.

Interestingly, the artwork chosen for the single is the same piece created by the music video’s main characters. From our perspective, it seems like a good fit as it appears to symbolize the struggles and pain that ultimately helped the protagonist grow stronger.

The release also coincided with the band’s ongoing one-man tour, “Alignment”, which commenced on June 20, giving fans the opportunity to experience the song live and further strengthen the bond between the band and its audience. If you have the chance, catch MAQIA on the remaining July dates, culminating in the tour final on July 17 at “Shibuya WWW”, Tokyo.

About MAQIA

MAQIA is a Japanese rock band formed in June 2025, bringing together members from diverse musical backgrounds: vocalist Oga Lento (formerly of KUROENA), guitarist TaJI and drummer Shiyu (both formerly of Rides In ReVellion), and bassist malo who is a longtime support musician for Vocaloid producer Threee (すりぃ). While still shaping their identity, the band blends melodic rock with influences ranging from anime music and Kpop to heavier rock styles, resulting in a sound that is both emotionally driven and packs a punch.

Since their debut, MAQIA has quickly expanded beyond Japan with performances in South Korea and a growing international following. Not only that, the band is currently celebrating its first anniversary with a solo live tour “Alignment”.
