Ryo, the former drummer and main composer of girugamesh, has begun a new chapter by reestablishing his name, “Ryo Trackmaker”, as a solo artist, with a new release set for February 13 at 22:00 (JST). Previously, this name was primarily used for Ryo’s production work and his YouTube activities.
Based on posts shared on X (Twitter) in Japanese and English, Ryo’s announcements strongly suggest a closing of the girugamesh era and a move toward a new path as an independent musician.
I was the drummer and composer for girugamesh.
That chapter ended 10 years ago. From here on, Ryo Trackmaker.

My first work will be placed.
Although girugamesh disbanded in 2016, they released the single engrave in 2022 in celebration of MAVERICK DC GROUP’s 40th anniversary, which at the time, provided a small glimpse of hope for fans. However, based on our own subjective interpretation, it is hard to read Ryo’s message as anything other than a closing of the girugamesh chapter.
The first song, REGENERATE, is already available for digital download and streaming ahead of the music video release. The music credits list Ryo Trackmaker as composer and lyricist, zis9xz as video editor, mikuma as illustrator, and Saku as logo designer. Ryo also performed all instruments, programming, recording, mixing, and mastering, while also using generative tools such as Suno for the main vocals and Synthesizer V for the supporting vocals.

Last year saw a great amount of amazing revivals of Japanese rock bands, but we never expected that this year would bring back Ryo to the music scene.
