Starting the new year off strong, Tokyo-based new wave band In My Vanitasss released a new single! “Violet Visions” is the band’s sixth single and combines new wave with post-punk to create a distinctive, alluring soundscape.
“Violet Visions” is arranged and mixed by the band’s bassist, Caromi, with vocalist Sora (宙) also credited for music and art direction. Written entirely with English lyrics, “Violet Visions” buzzes with electric textures and radiates a haunting atmosphere.
Additionally, the five band members have new looks to serve. Calling the new visual theme “POST-90s VISUAL KEI”, In My Vanitasss aims to embody the antithesis of the contemporary visual kei scene. Fueled by alternative and metal styles, the band’s new visual concept teleports fans back in time.
Since 2023, In My Vanitasss has created songs rooted in new wave, dark wave, and gothic culture. Originally a solo project for vocalist and composer Sora, the band formally became In My Vanitasss with the release of their first single on November 18, 2023. Currently, In My Vanitasss features Sora, bassist Caromi, guitarist 4pe, keyboardist Yasashisa, and drummer KEIYA.
