The newly formed female metal band Zilqy has finally released the full version of the song “Carry On” on October 22 after previously showing teasers. This work serves as the lead track from their upcoming debut EP, “Vacant Throne”, which is set to release on November 5.
The song “Carry On” is accompanied by a music video that captures the band’s elegant yet intense presence, showcasing their distinct post-melodic nu-metal sound. The shifting scenes, framed by stunning light work, reflect Zilqy’s message of “continuing to move forward with an unyielding inner fire”. This visual blend of elegance and rebellion can be attributed to director Koh Yamada, who often uses this refined expression; you may also know his work with coldrain, SiM, and Crystal Lake.
For people who have been fans of each member prior to Zilqy, you will likely notice the individuality shaped by their past, as each member brings unique strengths that create an interesting dynamic. See this in action in the music video down below!
About Zilqy
Zilqy consists of four acclaimed musicians who excel in their own right. Bilingual vocalist Anna, shaped by her childhood experiences overseas, brings an experience to the band’s original soundscape. Similarly, drummer Kano’s musicality is vast and draws from not just metal, but Latin music, jazz, and pop.
Guitarist Toki previously rocked the world with Aldious, having played at Toyosu PIT in Tokyo. Bassist Miho, on the other hand, made her mark with LOVEBITES, performing at Wacken Open Air and the UK’s Download Festival.
