All-female metal band Zilqy has officially launched their global debut, with an EP and live show on the near horizon! Combining the words “zilch” and “queen” to create their name, Zilqy describes themselves as, “Blending Western rock soundscapes with Japanese melodic sensibilities, and fusing grooves of electronic music”. The new post-melodic nu-metal band features four members: Anna on vocals, Toki (ex-Aldious) on guitar, Miho (ex-LOVEBITES) on bass, and Kano on drums.

Zilqy’s first EP, Vacant Throne, is set for release on November 5 and includes five tracks. Notably, each track is arranged in part by Gaku of Crystal Lake, as well as featuring contributions by many other artists. The EP Vacant Throne will have both a standard and limited edition at launch. The limited edition includes a special sleeve and 24-page booklet on top of the CD itself, available exclusively at the MAVERICK store.

Ears and eyes both are in for an energetic treat, as a sneak peek of Zilqy’s first music video, Carry On, can be found below, listed as the first song in the EP’s tracklist. The music video boasts Anna’s strong vocals, and enchanting guitar riffs, check it out for yourself!

Following the EP release, Zilqy prepares to rock with a live show! On December 10, the “Start The Fire” concert brings the heat to the venue, Daikanyama Space Odd, in Tokyo, with standing tickets going on sale for 5,500 yen. Besides new fans flocking to the show, invited media will also be present for an open press conference.

About Zilqy

Zilqy consists of four acclaimed musicians who excel in their own right. Bilingual vocalist Anna, shaped by her childhood experiences overseas, brings an experience to the band’s original soundscape. Similarly, drummer Kano’s musicality is vast and draws from not just metal, but Latin music, jazz, and pop.

Guitarist Toki previously rocked the world with Aldious, having played at Toyosu PIT in Tokyo. Bassist Miho, on the other hand, made her mark with LOVEBITES, performing at Wacken Open Air and the UK’s Download Festival.
