RAZOR has announced the release of their second best-of album, Zankou, set to drop on October 15.

Zankou features 12 tracks, including remixed title tracks, reworked versions of two songs from their mixed-media project MAGATSUNOTE, and two brand-new songs. The selection spans from Gareki, originally featured on their fourth mini-album PARASITE INVISIBLE, to their latest single INTENSITY.

As noted earlier, Zankou includes two previously released songs from RAZOR’s collaboration with MAGATSUNOTESonzai Shoumei and Tsuioku no Hate ni Nemure. These versions are “RAZOR-only”, likely without the radio drama elements from the original, and with updated production.

That’s not all though—RAZOR has shared previews of the music videos for the two new tracks, Sayonara and AfterGlow, offering fans a first look at what’s to come. A breakdown of each preview and the latest artist photos for each release can be found below.

Best-of album Zankou hits stores in regular and deluxe editions. The regular edition includes a CD featuring 12 songs, along with an M-Card that provides access to the music videos for Sayonara and AfterGlow, previewed below.

The deluxe edition contains the same CD and M-Card but adds a sleeve case with a 36-page booklet. Additionally, it includes a DVD of RAZOR’s 7th ANNIVERSARY ONEMAN TOUR VII – seventh – final performance at Spotify O-EAST, recorded on November 30, 2023.

Sayonara

Released on September 24, Sayonara emphasizes piano playing alongside serene synths and a light rock sound. Vocalist Ryoga delivers clean and heartfelt that grabs attention immediately. The music video demands the band to wear suits on stage, all while the camera revolves around and white lights beam on them. Scenes also contain close-ups of the band members’ faces, making the song feel interpersonal.

AfterGlow

In contrast, the song AfterGlow is a harder, faster, and more varied rock song, something that’s also depicted in the scenes of the music video. Similarly to the Sayonara music video preview, a camera revolves around the band, however, there are a few things that set it apart. The music video brings quick scene transitions, flashing lights, creative shots and angles, and vibrant red outfits. AfterGlow was released most recently, on October 3.
