Vocalist Hazuki (葉月), not to be mistaken with his band-focused solo project “HAZUKI”, returns to singing classical-accompanied original material and song covers, as his upcoming single Renge Kyo releases on January 25.

As the promotion machine whirled up earlier this month, Hazuki uploaded clips from his Nakano Sunplaza Hall concert performed in 2021. What concludes his promotion however is the hauntingly serene and harmonious music video for the single’s first track titled Suiren. Everything about the song alongside the visuals soothes the soul.

The scene is set as Hazuki travels between rooms as he sings in the traditional Japanese house built during the Meiji era, soaked in blue moonlight and hues. Meanwhile, a dancer enveloped in a long blowing blue cloth gracefully expresses sound through motion.

What the cinematography brings is absolutely stellar from the focus on Hazuki himself to the atmosphere created. The framing of every scene is just sublime.

Single Renge Kyo releases in regular and limited editions on January 25.

The regular edition features an original song Suiren, the song from the music video above. It is also joined by two lynch. cover songs; one is CRYSTALIZE, a B-side on their single BALLAD; the other one is ALLIVE, a song the band released to commemorate their Nippon Budokan performance and was released digitally.

The limited edition comes with the three songs mentioned above, along with a Blu-ray of Hazuki’s performance at Nakano Sunplaze Hall on December 12, 2021.

He will also perform two sold-out performances at Nihonbashi Mitsui Hall on January 27 and 28, followed by a performance at Nagoya Public Hall on February 4.

In the meantime, please watch his performances of DIR EN GREY‘s song “ain’t afraid to die”, L’Arc-en-Ciel‘s song “Shinshoku ~lose control~”, and Ado‘s song “Readymade”.
