ONE OK ROCK is coming to streaming service Netflix on October 21 with an exclusive documentary, Flip a Coin. The worldwide release follows the band for three months as they prepare to stream a no-audience stadium concert that matches the energy of their in-person shows.
Having completed their Eye of the Storm tours in Japan and Australia, ONE OK ROCK was ramping up for a world tour when the 2020 pandemic hit. In order to survive in the struggling entertainment industry, the band decided to stream a no-audience stadium concert Field of Wonder at Stadium from ZOZO MARINE STADIUM in Chiba. The stadium’s capacity caps out around 30,000 people, yet Field of Wonder at Stadium was streamed by 110,000 viewers simultaneously.
Flip a Coin promises to be insightful, intimate, and inspiring, with over 90 minutes of footage revealing rehearsals, interviews, and rare scenes of the members’ private lives. ONE OK ROCK states on their website that they aim to be the first globally recognized alternative band from Japan. This may be their jumping-off point.
The preview gave us goosebumps.
If you have a Netflix account, you can set a reminder for when the documentary is released! ONE OK ROCK also announced they will release a live DVD and Bluray of their concert Field of Wonder at Stadium. It drops on November 17, 2021.
