UVERworld released their double A-side collaboration single titled Raichoue/SOUL on September 1, and they’ve just dropped the short version of track one’s music video, Raichoue. With UVERworld alongside guest singers Takayuki Yamada and Aiemu at an indoor race track, they perform as cars drift precariously around them. The song itself superbly blends their distinct vocals as they each get an equal spot in the limelight.
The sound of a screeching car and reverberating sound effects followed by guitarist Akira’s lively riffs sets up the transition into the fantastic first verse. TAKUYA revs into gear with his charismatic vocals, followed by Takuya Yamada’s domineering voice before Aiemu chases in with his energetic raspy vocals. Not only are their voices distinct but their personalities are too, especially with the two guest vocalists as Takayuki is reserved and serious, contrasted to Aiemu who energetically grooves to the track.
Switching down to a solemn dark room with dramatic spotlights, gradually building up tension, the strong presence these three vocalists have standing before one another is a heart racing experience. This impressive, almost other worldly presence is amplified at the end, standing side by side with UVERworld.

Single Raichoue/SOUL comes in “TYPE-Raichoue” and “TYPE-SOUL” and both types contain title tracks Raichoue and SOUL, their instrumentals, and the music videos for Raichoue and SOUL. However, the difference here is that “TYPE-Raichoue” will have the UVERworld version of Raichoue while “TYPE-SOUL” will have the UVERworld’s version of SOUL.
This maxi-single features three guest vocalists in total, witch actor and vocalist Takayuki Yamada on the song Raichoue, pop and R’n’B vocalist Thelma Aoyama lending her talents on song SOUL, and vocalist Aiemu from Tokugawa eq. on both songs.
