DIR EN GREY just announced they will be releasing their 32nd single titled Ochita Koto no Aru Sora (落ちた事のある空) this summer! The band’s new material will be available exclusively in digital form for the second time in their extensive discography, following single Tsumi to Batsu from 2011.
In other news, more content from DIR EN GREY is coming your way as the DIR EN GREY LIVE ARCHIVE & SPECIAL TALK project has been announced. The “live archive” part consists of a YouTube live streaming of a full concert among the ones already released as DVD and Blu-ray, while the “special talk” will feature a real-time talk session among the members discussing a particular topic. The news came out through the “5 DAYS” premieres on YouTube, released five nights in a row. These videos contained exclusive playlists produced by each member as a way to simulate the setlists from the canceled TOUR20 SOGAI due to the spread of COVID-19.
DIR EN GREY’s new material comes after they introduced us to The world of mercy with their 30th single back in September 2019. This was followed up with the tour This Way to Self-Destruction which took the band not only across a domestic tour in Japan but also through Europe, and North America. JROCK NEWS had the opportunity to attend the band’s concert in London this February and also sat down for an interview with drummer Shinya.
