ZigZag released their second album, ZigZag 2 -Shintenchi- (慈愚挫愚 弐 〜真天地〜) this year on March 18. More recently they uploaded the music video for the gentle third track, Promise, on their YouTube channel.
The video shows the band members performing on a dry, grassy field underneath a clear blue sky. The song itself has a soft and heavenly feel to it. It’s as if the band knew that this song was the right one to film and share to lift our spirits during these rough times. Prepare to be moved as you listen to the soothing song.
As mentioned before, the album has been on sale since March 18—its regular edition that is. The venue-limited edition was meant to be released the same day at ESAKA MUSE, however, the concert was postponed along with the sale. Keep an eye on ZigZag for more updates on the situation.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with this band, their full name is Shintenchi Kaibyaku Shudan – ZigZag (真天地開闢集団-ジグザグ), but are commonly referred to as ZigZag. The band debuted in 2015, and officially initiated activities in 2016. The group consists of vocalist and guitarist Mikoto (命), bassist Ryuya (龍矢), and drummer Kagemaru (影丸).
Here’s a closer look at the trio.
We hope that the song or band has sparked your interest! Feel free to express your opinions on the music video in the comment section. And for those of you who own the album, was this track your favorite? What do you think of the album overall?
