The release date for yonige’s album Kenzen na Shakai has been switched from April 29 to May 20. For now, we can try to enjoy the depressing music video for the song, Kenzen na Asa, which was produced by Asian Kung-Fu Generation’s vocalist Masafumi Gotoh.

Yasuyuki Yamaguchi directed the cinematic video that follows the lonely protagonist through his daily routine, played by Ryuya Wakaba. While not directly starring in the video, we can spot the band’s singer Arisa Ushimaru as the street performer and bassist Gokkin having dinner at the restaurant scene.

Masafumi Gotoh’s production highlights Arisa Ushimaru’s soothing voice over relaxing guitar melodies, and Gokkin’s pulsating bassline, creating a gloomy atmosphere.

Actor Ryuya Wakaba worked with yonige as the director of their music video Ojogiwa and played the lazy guy seen in Revolver. In Kenzen na Asa the actor’s persona shifts to portray a man trapped in a cycle dejection and loneliness with no way out.

The duo has revealed the full tracklist and cover art for Kenzen na Shakai since our last report. The album is composed of 10 tracks including singles Ojogiwa produced by Chatmoncy’s bassist Akiko Fukuoka, and Mitai na Koto which featured in the comedy-drama film Oishi Kazoku. New information confirms Masafumi Gotoh’s production work is not only in Kenzen na Asa but also in the first track of the album, Juuichigatsu Nijuuyonichi (11月24日).

As previously stated, the release date has unfortunately been postponed to May 20. Consequently, the release of yonige’s first live DVD will also be postponed since their initial intention was to put out both works simultaneously.
