Look out! In Yoshiki’s latest commercial for “THE iDOLM@STER: Shiny Colors” he has been turned into a badass idol group producer and is no longer a man of “X”, but “S”? This is unlike Toshl who leveled up from X to Y in his recent Y!Mobile commercial.
The legendary drummer Yoshiki from X Japan gave us positive goosebumps with his latest TV commercial for “THE iDOLM@STER: Shiny Colors“, a browser-based game developed by Bandai Namco, available in the App Store and Google Play Store (in Japan). THE iDOLM@STER game franchise is based on the concept that the player is a “producer” who manages idol groups. In this case, Yoshiki represents a producer that reigns over a bunch of anime girls, the ones featured in the game can be seen below.
- Alstroemeria Idols
- Houkago Climax Girls Idols
- Illumination STARS Idols
- L’Antica Idols
The commercial itself is incredibly cool and nerdy, and that is exactly why we love it! It is also quite straightforward, except for the fact that we find Yoshiki in a very unnatural pose at the beginning, showing off an “S” sign instead of the cross-arm “X” we are normally familiar with. The “S” here would represent “Shiny Colors”, the title of the game.
We also get an insight into the behind-the-scenes. Yoshiki gets asked about how the shooting experience was and what he felt when receiving the offer to do the commercial. To the latter question, Yoshiki made remarks on how he was unsure if he’d be a good fit due to the rock image he already established.
How did you like the commercial, wasn’t Yoshiki badass? Let us know in the comment section!
