With the popular Anisong World Matsuri (AWM) concert series humbling having its first line of concerts in Los Angeles in 2016, the festival is now brought to the people of the big apple, New York City, marking the biggest Japanese pop music event ever in the city! You can now hear your favorite iconic anime opening themes at AWM, which will be presented alongside New York’s biggest anime convention Anime NYC, held in the Javits Center on November 16, 17, and 18 with an estimated attendance of over 30,000 attendees. AWM itself will take place during the first two dates, November 16, and 17!
See your favorite J-rock acts such as nano, as well as Hironobu Kageyama, the vocalist behind JAM Project and Dragonball’s well known Cha la head cha la theme song. On the J-pop side of things, we’ll find Konomi Suzuki, Luna Haruna, Morning Musume, and more.

VIP tickets are $138, while General (standing) tickets and balcony tickets are $53 and $48, respectively. VIP tickets will include perks such as early entry to the concert venue, a special VIP badge, the ability to score a high five with the artist(s) at a special goodbye event, and a signed poster. The popular anime streaming company Crunchyroll are powering the Anime NYC convention, and the convention will hold events such as live Q&As and autograph sessions. If you’re a fan of both Japanese music and anime and manga, this could be a very exciting event!
