Last month, LIPHLICH’s former drummer Maruyama Eiki announced that he was leaving the band last month for health reasons. Eiki suffered from lower back which gradually became worse, and with that, he also came to the realisation that he had musical differences to the band. (We should note that back pains are one of the worst things you can have, so we don’t blame him really.)
With his departure, LIPHLICH has gained a new drummer, Kobayashi Takaaki (小林孝聡). Some of you may recognise him as Zumi, the former drummer of yazzmad who recently disbanded. This was announced on at their live in Akasaka BLITZ on January 24. He has left fans a lovely message on twitter on joining:
How do you do? Today, I joined LIPHLICH as their drummer, Kobayashi Takaashi (or you can call me Koba). We will continue to show you fine music and I will live as a member of the LIPHLICH.
Listen to the sound of the new LIPHLICH! W have our solo concert tour Ouroboros at Akasaka BLITZ today, thank you very much for attending!
Are you guys seeing a trend here? This January marked the demise of many bands both young and mature, but members seem to always come back with a new project or band. Check out the new look and video they have released with their shiny new drummer.
