On July 1, Kizu (キズ) released an abundance of exciting information regarding their new album Gokuraku Yori Gokujo no Ame (極楽より極上の雨), due out August 5. Alongside this information came a thrilling music video for their latest single Houou (鳳凰).

Kizu has revealed the tracklist, album art, and limited edition content in the latest information release. Gokuraku Yori Gokujo no Ame comes in three versions, including regular and limited types A and B, each releasing August 5.

The regular version comes with 16 tracks featuring old and new material showcasing the best of what Kizu has to offer. Fans can prepare themselves for highly anticipated new material as well as a reminder of the latest singles. In addition to brand-new music, the album will revitalize some old favorites with remakes. The remakes include Kizuato (傷痕), Oni (鬼), Strawberry Blue (ストロベリー·ブルー), Kuroi Ame (黒い雨), and finally, exclusive to the regular edition, Juusei (銃声).

The remake version of Juusei was already released last year and gives fans an idea of what other remakes could sound like. But while our imaginations run wild speculating on new remakes, take a look below to familiarize yourself with the new and improved version of Juusei.

The limited editions, type A and type B, each come with 15 tracks, with the remake of Juusei excluded. Despite this, the bonus disc more than makes up for the loss. Type A comes with a music video collection so you can relive all your favorite cinematic experiences from Kizu’s latest singles. The tracklist also confirms that music videos for AMATELAS and Hajimari (はじまり) are on the way. Type B, on the other hand, comes with documentary footage so you can take a peek at how the visual kei giant Kizu operates behind closed doors.

Finally, in regard to album details, the cover art was revealed. In a similar vein to the cover art of Houou, Gokuraku Yori Gokujo no Ame‘s cover artwork features a detailed pen and ink style. Each version comes with different cover artwork; all three versions and the single Houou are below to view in more detail.

Alongside all this exciting information, Kizu also released a music video for the single Houou. Fans first received a taste of Houou on April 8 alongside JP:PARASITE as a thank you amid the news of an album delay. Since then fans have expressed uncontrollable excitement for Kizu’s next artistic showcase, and the new music video certainly doesn’t disappoint. In line with the track title Houou, meaning “phoenix”, the band plays their instruments in front of fiery backgrounds.
