Every since curry was introduced to Japan during the Meiji era, people there haven’t been able to get enough of it. In the case of GUTS AND DEATH, especially YD (and Yusei), he really really really loves curry. So much that he can’t even control himself and smears it all over his face. That’s is some curry love you can’t beat.
