“kein”‘s first full album in three years, Iustitia sine misericordia will be released on October 7. Iustitia sine misericordia marks the band’s first full-length release since signing with major label King Records in 2024. kein made their major label debut with their EP PARADOXON DOLORIS, followed by their second major EP, delusional inflammation in 2025.
Iustitia sine misericordia features 11 tracks, 10 of which were newly written by the members. The lyrics are written by vocalist Mako, who embodies the band’s unique, dark, and profound worldview. The seventh track, Amaoto no Kioku (雨音の記憶), is the only self-cover on this release. Originally released on a limited-edition cassette in 1999, this sought-after track has been revived by the current incarnation of kein, showing how the band has evolved over the years.
The album will be available in two editions: a standard CD-only edition, and a limited edition. The limited edition adds a Blu-ray disc featuring the music video The Messy-Haired Grimalkin, along with behind-the-scenes footage from production.
kein will kick off a 12-show domestic tour to coincide with the release of their album on October 7, and general tickets are on sale now. The band will also hold a series of in-store autograph session events at Tower Records locations across Japan. For more details, check out the official website here.
