Avant-garde rock band sukekiyo has announced the release of a new digital single, “possess”, arriving February 26.

Known for their lavish, art-driven physical editions, and limited release demo tapes, sukekiyo rarely opts for immediate digital distribution. As such, this upcoming release becomes an especially welcome surprise. For overseas fans in particular, “possess” offers a rare opportunity to experience the band’s newest work the moment it becomes available. Check your streaming service of choice at midnight local time on February 26.

The single’s jacket artwork showcases an original painting by artist Amanda M. Jansson. Sharing their concept sketch with followers, Jansson reflected on the collaboration:

“possess” features one brand-new track and stands as sukekiyo’s first original release since “breeder”, which debuted in April 2025. “DOMINUS”, the single that produced “breeder”, was also released on streaming platforms on February 1.

With new music, and casting a wider net of worldwide accessibility, sukekiyo is building momentum for 2026. The band is currently on tour in Japan, performing “TOUR2026 Joukotsukotsujou -Kaihou no Gi-”.
