HYDE released his single THE ABYSS on January 29, on his birthday. That’s not all, however, as he also performed on the same day to celebrate, making the occasion exceptionally special. To top it off, within the crescendo of excitement, the esteemed vocalist also revealed the music video for the song.
Filmed entirely in Austria, where HYDE serves as the country’s Tourism Ambassador, the music video is specifically set in Salzburg. The production of THE ABYSS takes him to multiple breathtaking locations as he sings beautifully to the rousing orchestration.
Captured in the first location, HYDE ponders as he sits in the stalls of the Marionette Theater, before standing up and singing in falsetto for the chorus, swaying to and fro. The visuals then seamlessly transition to the vocalist now at a dimly-lit altar by candlelight in Fortress Hohensalzburg. Viewers are then transported to a location in the Salzburg Salt Mine, where he is surrounded by even more candles, with a rock formation behind him as he sings.
What better way to continue his ambassadorship than HYDE’s historic orchestral performance on May 25 in Vienna, Austria. Titled HYDE Orchestra Tour 2026 JEKYLL in Wien, bringing the tour overseas for one night only.
Single THE ABYSS releases in regular and limited editions, with the former featuring the title track and orchestra version of LAST SONG, taken from HYDE’s album HYDE [INSIDE]. The latter has the same track list along with an M CARD containing the music video for THE ABYSS, and a related documentary.
HYDE will release his new album JEKYLL digitally on March 11, and physically as a CD, scheduled for sometime in May. The track list will feature previously released songs such as NOSTALGIC, FINAL PIECE, his own rendition of songs MAISIE and SSS, which he originally featured on for artists Cö shu Nie and TOMORROW X TOGETHER, respectively.
